Take Advantage of the New Year Sales

Who doesn't like saving money? When stores announce they're having a sale, everyone rushes to their store to get their hands on a discounted item. Retailers and major companies need to get rid of "last season's" items to make room for the new. Instead of throwing away their unsold clothes or electronics, they choose to have a sale to make some profit. Smart, isn't it? We love a good sale, so we thought we'd share with you the items you must buy after the holidays are over!

The days after Christmas are a great time to hit the stores because this is when most retailers are trying to make room for their new shipments. These sales usually last until the end of the year or into January. To take advantage of these sales, make a list of the items you need / want to buy. But remember, new versions of these items will come out in the new year, so you need to be okay with not having the "latest" version.

1. Winter Clothing
Winter clothes are expensive when they're on the racks and rarely go on sale between October and December. The clothes are cute, but that price tag... not so much. Shop for winter clothes after Christmas to get the best deals! If you have kids, buying clothes too early seems redundant since they're going to grow in a year and the clothes won't fit anymore. However, you can buy a size or two up to make sure they fit by next winter.

2. Toys and Small Gifts
Toys are usually sold out by the time Christmas arrives. However, there are still some small toys and gifts leftover for birthday party purposes. Toys are usually 70% off the days after Christmas so you can stock up on toys for the whole year! Small gifts like spa kits are also on sale and you can use those for small thank you gifts throughout the year.

3. Decorations
Need a new tree for next year? Did your Christmas lights burn out? Good news! The days after Christmas, you can get decorations, Christmas trees, and lights for as low as 50-70% off. If that's not a deal, we don't know what is.

4. Food
Food is always on demand year round, but seasonal products go on sale after Christmas. If you need baking supplies, wine, cheese, or seasonal flavors, head over to your supermarket to get these items at a reduced price.

5. Consumer Electronics
We all know the new year brings new updates and products in the electronics industry. Lucky for you,  that's when most of these electronics go on sale! Companies are showing off their new products and are trying to make room for them, so guess what? Sales all around! Get those new headphones, watches, and phones in the new year at low prices.

Saving money shouldn't be hard. When you look for sales and deals instead of paying full price for something, you can save a lot of money! If you want to save even more without thinking about it, open a Christmas Club account with us so you don't have to worry about presents next year!
